Las Vegas Weather

Las Vegas Weather Information

One of the reasons Las Vegas is so popular is because of the weather. It is always nice in Las Vegas. Or is it? Most people think Las Vegas is nice and warm all year around, but its not. They do have four seasons and one of them is winter. And while their winter might be little milder than most areas, it can still get a little chilly. Especially in the evenings.

If you plan on going to Vegas in the middle of winter expect temperatures to be around 55 degrees. Early in the morning you can expect it to be closer to 35 degrees. So as you can see, Vegas does get cold. So if you go during the winter months, make sure you pack some warm clothes. It’s not like a winter in New York so all you will need is sweater and light jacket.

As winter leaves and summer approaches, the Las Vegas weather becomes extremely beautiful. When the end of March comes around you can expect the temperature to reach the 80′s. January and February are the rainiest months but its nothing over the top. You won’t get rained in or anything like that.

One thing about Las Vegas is that in the summer it is super hot. Depending on the time of day temperatures can reach well over 100 degrees. So it gets hot and humid there. In July and August you can expect 2 or 3 storms each month. Nothing major but you can get some rain and thunder. Make sure you take an umbrella with you if you go during those two months.

Once fall comes around the temperatures will fall pretty quickly. At the end of the year the temperature will be closer to 60 degrees instead of 100 degrees.

One thing you really need to watch out for in Las Vegas is the wind. Chicago isn’t the only windy city. During certain months Vegas can get very strong winds and gusts. Sometimes the gusts can be all the way up into the 90′s. And while wind is not generally life threatening, it is something you should consider before you go.

When you are there make sure you take any flash flood warning serious. Las Vegas is shaped like a bowl in the valley. That means water flows down into the low areas and can indeed cause flooding. For the most part it is nothing to worry about but you should be aware of it.

Overall the weather in Vegas is great if you go at the right time. The summer and early spring is the best time to go and enjoy all the wonderful sights and sounds. No matter what you like to do, you are sure to find it in Vegas. You can go for a romantic getaway or take the entire family for some family fun.

No matter why you go, you will without a doubt have a good time. And remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
